A man or woman in panic doesn’t behave rationally. It is a reaction to the sudden appearance of an unexpected dangerous situation. The fight or flee mechanism is turned on and the individual in question always chooses the flight mechanism. It may not be a rational choice. If any damage is caused, it is only to the self. But a mob in panic reacts differently. Here also every one to himself or herself is the rule. But, as there is no order, everything is in chaos. An excited mob fleeing a cinema house on fire is an example. The damage to life and property is inadvertent but enormous.
